Fast Cars, Good FBoldood, Good Company

the 3 ingredients of a blissful time.
(well actually i dun really need fast cars)

i just had a fantabulous friday and saturday!

-------------------------

On Saturday the group went to Johor for go-karting.
Lu, poot, ann-ma and callie came along as well.

Lu: "your friends look very decent lei"
"how so?" i smiled.
"decent like, I dun think i can swear and show middle finger."

i did call her a facebook slut just before we all went home so yea we did sneak in a not-good word.

she brought along her bf's super professional looking camera and was struggling to take non-blurry pictures while others went "wow! you must be very pro"

it took us all of 2+ hours to get through customs, in the sweltering heat too no less.

took the time to catch up on botox models, hollywood actresses, my bombed juggling show ("my lightsticks won't break. then i whack until my chain broke"), and "inbreeding".

ann-ma: "so who are the couples?"
"no couples here. all sisters and brothers in christ"
"but always got inbreeding one ma"
"hehe, ya, true"

"i'm too sinful to go church"
"no la, don't say that."
"and i enjoy being sinful"
"okay.....keep the devil horns down..i can see them...."

------------------------------------------------------

After we finally got through customs we jumped into a cab and went on our way.
gd thing the driver is chinese so henry had a good time chatting up with him on all things johor.

the driver himself didn't know where the place is,
"wah you all very li hai hor. can play until this kind of place"

and we realised we had to drive on 5km of dirt track full of potholes through an abandoned planatation.

it was actually quite scary.
thank god that it wasn't dark yet, and kev had the good sense to put a guy in each cab.

the driver was quite reluctant to drive in,
but he relented in the end,
while henry continued chatting with him on all the different kind of animals that could jump out in a place like this.

"after got tiger how?"
"here got tiger meh?"
"got tiger they also won't say ma!"

we finally found our go-karting circuit,
which the driver entered through the main gate with a "here then the road so nice! for what?"

the wait there wasn't that long,
and soon we were buzzing on the tracks.

Poot and i made a bet so that it would be more exciting.
the winner gets more food and the loser needs to sing a song during dinner.

it was pretty fun.
there were some tight turns that were scary but once you got used to it it was ok.

Poot actually overtook me during the first lap as i watched her race past me indignantly,
but 20 seconds later her engine stalled and i overtook her again. (hehe!)

there wasn't really a loser in the end because she lost count (!) of her laps,
but she sang so much anyway her cab driver had to switch on class 95.

it was pretty much accident free,
save for one incident where a sister crashed into the side and flew off her kart i think.
her injuries weren't too serious but she was quite shaken.

-------------------------------------------

after that it was a cab ride to fabulous food.
my most memorable food/friend moments always involve stingray and sugarcane for some reason.

i remember having sugarcane and stingray with the cedar folks at chomp chomp.
i remember having sth like that with steph at chomp chomp.
i remember having sugarcane and stingray with henry at chomp chomp.
just recently i had sugarcane and stingray with jialu at makan sutra.
and now it's sugarcane and stingray and crayfish and kangkong and a whole lot of stuff at taman sentosa johor!

oh the food was great and yummy and we had a good chat too.

cool stuff.

on the way back we were singing old macdonald's with different emotions and different singer styles. nice. :)

------------------------------------------------------------

friday was really good too as i met shan for lunch and she shared with me her stories.
ah..so she was quite a mambo queen in the past!
now i know who to jio for clubbing.

after lunch she wanted to do a prayer for me but there were too many office pple around so we huddled to some bush in a corner.

"you know what we look like. we're two girls looking secretive and then we go find some bush and hide behind shaking bushes"

in the evening had a good dinner with callie, poot and T.
3 of us then headed off to Timbre.

everytime T and i go watch a band in action,
the resident band is always not around and we'd end up listening to some stand in.

first time it was wala,
now it's timbre.

i thought Old School would be full of pubs like dempsey,
but timbre seemed to be the only pub.
quite strange, but interesting to visit for the first time.

the two person accoustic band sounded better from the car park than inside the pub.

i cannot do accoustic bands.
it's after office hours, there're drinks involved, and accoustic pieces just put me to sleep.

and T's mini-van is actually quite nice to sleep in. hehe.
callie didn't seem to keen to sit behind, so i plonked myself there.
he had a nice sofa in there so it was very comfy.
and i sat there visualising a 4 piece band squashed behind and taking a road trip to malaysia,
it'd be so hippie.
----------------------------------------------------

i'm enjoying a non-commital period.
no deadlines, no tasks in my free time.
just chill.
it's been a month since i had that.

toastmasters on thurs was fun and my thirst is back.
i may do a speech the next session.

i asked God for a subject to speak on during my jog and i have an idea now.
not sure if it'll work, sekali bomb again.

i'm two speeches away from "graduating" to the advance manual!

i'm feeling the peace of God again too.
there is a lot to be thankful for.
i'm very blessed. :)

Thank You.

The Strangest Gig I've ever done

7 years of doing gigs on and off,
and today's gig ranks right up there as the strangest one i've ever done.

i've had my fair share of bad gigs,
but this one blew me away.

everything that could go wrong,
went wrong.

----------------------------------

everything abt this gig was strange.
i've never felt as stressed and panicky as i did to prepare for this one.
the amt of stress and preparation involved was way disproportional to the event and payment.

it really wasn't any big event,
and the payment was normal,
and even my mom told me yesterday
"for this amount of money, if you're gonna be so stressed, i'd rather you not take it up"

i figured it was because this is the first time i really tried my hand at a "production",
and i really wanted it to work.

besides, this was also the first time i planned a FULL 15 minute routine,
one with no talking at all.
If you grab a volunteer and play little games and make small talk,
15 minutes is not that hard.
but do a full routine,
and most of us would do a 3 minute one,
with the skillful ones maybe maxing it at 5 minute.

15 minutes without talking is really testing your ability to hold the audience's attention.

i actually had that sinking feeling yesterday,
the kind you get the day before an exam you haven't finished studying for.

and the thought of bailing out seriously crossed my mind,
more seriously than i've ever felt.

But as a performer you can never bail out.
it isn't an option.

so i bit the bullet and continued,
quietly reminding myself to "finish the vision"

while reminding myself, again, not to think it out of proportion.

"if it works, great. if it bombs, scram. at least you don't know anyone in there."

----------------------------------

in yet another itchy backside move,
i decided to make this thing biblical.

i didn't outrightly put God in it,
but i quoted bits and pieces from the bible.

and to be honest i wasn't completely comfortable.
i had a nagging feeling that this was my own initiative and not God's.
i wasn't sure.
but i think maybe now i am, on hindsight.

--------------------------------------

So, after a week of stress and 2 nights of shallow sleep,
i finally got my routine out and running.
the stage looked great too,
everything was there for the taking.

one problem was that the organisers were too young and inexperienced.
they did start a company,
and the director was probably below 20.

i admired their drive and passion,
but there just wasn't enough organisation,
and true enough,
the sound and visual effects, so integral to my show, failed from the start.

it took all of 15 minutes to fix the sound and background effects,
by using my backup CD.

and for all of 15 minutes,
the audience sat waiting in the dark (haha),
because i used lighted props and asked them to switch the lights off.

after the sound and visuals started working,
it was time for my props to fail me.

1) the stage guy mispositioned all my props on stage.

2) the candles i used wouldn't light up, destroying the effect i wanted to create.

3) the lightsticks i used for poi didn't work. i needed them to break and glow on stage for my effect, so i couldn't try them before hand. i had to work by faith. and they failed lor.

4) one lightstick did manage to glow, but the handle broke.

5) i hurriedly changed the poi to the other lightsticks (i always have backups), and the poi CHAIN broke!

how the poi chain can break is beyond me.
it's METAL.

in my first routine,
the lighted poi played a huge role.

there was thus a huge gap of the audience probably not knowing at all what i was doing on stage.

thankfully the rest of the show went ok.
at the rate it was going, i didn't want to juggle knives over the volunteer,
but thankfully i didn't drop it on him.

and yes,
i didn't have time to do my costume makeup in the toilet,
so i garang-ly did my make up in the dressing room with no mirror.

NEVER do costume makeup without a mirror.
-----------------------------------------

the sequence of events is horrifying.
right after the 15 minute delay, the audience watch me struggle with the candle, and then they see me whacking glow sticks that wouldn't glow, then they see the glow sticks flying off the chain, then they wonder what i'm doing on stage trying desperately to do poi without poi chains.

For a full 5 minute, i bet they had no idea what i was doing.
i was surprised i could continue with all these mishaps. the show must go on. do poi without poi chains.

-------------------------------------

i am almost embarassed to be paid for the gig.

I am now genuinely thankful that:

1) the failure was so spectacular i don't really feel upset, i am more puzzled
2) no one i knew was in the audience. i invited shereen and angie to come video tape me but one was rushing her assignment and angie fell ill.
3) the audience and orgainsers were all young, friendly and supportive, so the damage is controlled.

i dun actually think my idea failed.
i still think it has potential,
and when executed well it will be so beautiful,
but i'll probably hold it off for a while.

if my METAL poi chain can break,
then God must be trying to tell me something.

this is SO strange.

Procastination

ARGH
the power of procastination!

here's a quick post.
Whatever by the Oasis. Flashback to the old days of good music.

I'm free to be whatever I
Whatever I choose
And I'll sing the blues if I want

Free to be whatever you
Whatever you say
If it comes my way it's alright
You're free to be wherever you
Wherever you please
You can shoot the breeze if you want

It always seems to me
You only see what people want you to see

TGIF!

it's cool to just dwell in nothingness.
it's FRIDAY!

actually took leave today to take a break..and to prepare for sunday's show thingy..which i still have nothing for.
i'm getting tired of always having some deadline to meet....
it can be fun...but also tiring....

and it's hard to be inspired when tired.

-----------------------------------

met up with Hu and gang on tues.
we ate and talked until Shokudo closed,
then walked to the MRT and talked until the last train left...
and finally we settled down at Starbucks,
using someone else's empty drink cups as our claiming rights to sit.

i've been to shokudo twice before and didn't think the food was that great,
but somehow on tues it was really yummy.

kudos to food sharing so that everyone got a sample of everything,
including the towgay that took 15 minutes to cook.
the soft shell crab ramen and the egg thing were really good.

"how come everyone always eats until the last piece and stops? Can we pleease finish the quarter soft shell crab LEG and the ONE piece of chicken"

we talked
about work ("no one knows what i'm doing. i don't know what i'm doing."),
about guys ("He didn't call! I don't care if there's no reception in western australia, send a pigeon!"),
about contraceptives ("angie's gonna end up with a football team!"),
about grey's anatomy ("gay is the right word. Fag is not. it's like apu nei nei")
about having no regrets.....

Hu told me abt Wanyi's cardiff wedding.
of how they told her she should arrange a bridesmaids fitting session,
but she declined.
Hu ended up with a dress too big and jialu one that's too small.
so Hu had to put a clip to keep the gown up, and jialu had to clip hers cos the zipper won't fit.

i can already hear wanyi's laughter in my head.
must have been hilarious in the dressing room.
------------------------------------------------

met up with my shepherd on wed.
the combination of fatigue, stress and PMS is a potent one.

me and my big mouth,
i said some stuff that made her quite upset i think.
(it's weird writing this cos she reads my blog from time to time. *waves to shepherd* olive branch! olive branch! peace! peace!)

sigh.

lesson learnt...watch your tongue.

----------------------------------

Poot just called and self appointed herself the chairman of my christmas party.

it took her SIX months to find out her school buddy is my classmate.
so both of them called to excitedly tell me they found each other.

and in their excitment they volunteered my house for the party.
"since weips is not around, we'll use yvo's house!"
"we'll play taboo! and that snake and ladders drinking game thing"
"let's have it christmas eve!"
"everyone's gonna go for countdown. no one will come"
"Poot will bring a turkey"
"i will BUY a turkey"
"you will COOK the turkey"

i dunno if it's gonna happen in the end.
it sounds fun.
---------------------------------------------

mom had an interesting conversation with the insurance guy yesterday.
she asked why my premiums were more than my bro's,
and the insurance guy started listing out all the additional body parts a woman has that a man does not,
"with all these additional parts, the additional few hundred dollars very cheap already you know"

ten minutes later he called and said there was a typo error.
my brother's premiums were more than mine after all.

---------------------------------------------

i should get started on my act.
inspiration inspiration!

Keeping the Dream Alive

what a lovely song.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdX3D_2h8Pk

The hopes we had were much too high
Way out of reach but we have to try

No need to hide no need to run
'Cause all the answers come one by one

The game will never be over
Because we're keeping the dream alive

--------------------------------------------

Haven't done an all nighter for a while.
Forgot the peacefulness of the night and the magic of music from late night radio

It reminded me of days in Huntsville
where i would tune in to class 95 in the office using internet streaming.
listening to late night radio in "normal hours"

ah..nostalgia.

Was having fun cutting little cartoon characters for my fren's card yesterday.
reminded me of the days in sch where we did small little projects and i'd do the same thing.
it's always a lot of fun.
i can't draw, so i'd use the ready-made strips in the newspapers, and add my own bubble thoughts and comments.

---------------------------

i'm getting quite worried abt the show on sunday.
i have nothing planned yet.
ideas ideas, but no concrete plans.
i'd better get started and prepare for it.

Tentatively, this is what i have
"Tonight, the Juggleress presents her latest creation -"Faith, Hope and Love", a 15 minute piece expressing the search for the meaning of life. "

-----------------------------

met up with jialu on thursday.
she is always in the middle of some social activism.

the last time i met her in boston she was excited abt the Nobel Prize indian professor who started the bank for the poor.

Now she's on a vegetarian stop-cruelty-to-animals thing.

she's really funny.

i reminded her that the last time she tried to cook chicken for me,
the oven was spewing smoke,
and she had to do a "controlled release of smoke" to prevent the fire detectors from going off.

so vegetarianism is good.

--------------------------------

i'm beginning to feel nostalgic,
and a tinge of sadness for some reason.

hmmm.
hmm.

The One with the Duck, the Train and the Bible

wah, this just happened hours ago so must write now.
it's pretty amazing.

So today is one of those days i feel like punching everyone.
From the word "Go" at work, it's been chaos.
I spent the entire day attending meetings and jotting down the things i had to do rather than doing anything productive.

that's not a big deal,
last week was pretty stressful too and i was not unhappy.

Today was really bad because i hate it when pple push work around.
i try to help when i can,
but suddenly those things became my "ball".
I get really peeved when pple push things away without even trying.

And then to add to that,
my techs were getting experiments done and they weren't too familiar with the setup.
now i have not been to the setup training either so i couldn't help much,
and i left it to another person who had been to the training for them to figure things out,
while i ran around my meetings.

when i finally had time to get the person to show me the setup,
i saw something that was done wrong and so i had to ask my tech to re-do.

Apprantly i wasn't the only one who saw the wrong setup,
others saw it too and they obviously thought i was the ONE who got it wrong.
And my tech does not have the best temper in the world and i know he was super pissed he had to re-do.

now it's super 冤枉 lor.
in the first place, i didn't get it wrong, i just didn't have time to verify the setup because i was attending meetings of balls that aren't even mine.
in the 2nd place, i have not had a single training on this so i relied on what the person who did the training said, and he can be quite blur.

there's no one really to be blamed,
all very circumstantial,
but it just looks like my fault.
and i'm really can't be bothered to defend anything.

i get peeved too when i see pple talking their way out of things.
don't sound so sure of things you aren't sure of.
and i saw how some pple talked down to other pple and that pisses me off too,
even though it made me wonder if i'll gain more respect that way.

-------------------------------------------------------

so anyway i was pissed for most of the day with all these things going on and chaos everywhere,
and when i left the office i was hopping mad.

Mad at no one, mad at everyone.
i almost wanted to tell the two girls walking in front of me to shut up and stop singing.

for a split second in mid-day,
after i snapped at my colleague to "take a queue number" when she kept bugging me to do something,
i did hear a voice in me go
"Let your gentleness be evident to all. the Lord is near." (twice)

but that was abt it.

-----------------------------------------------

so i was really angry walking to the train from the office.
and in my head i was all ready to blog with super huge fonts of "duck with a capital F" everywhere,
and how the world is shit and i'll play this game too.

I needed to blast angry music in my ears and amazingly the angriest piece of mp3 i have in my phone is a christian song!
but that one is pretty heavy metal,
i used to get quite amused that a christian group can sound like Nirvana.

the next angriest song i have is britney spears(!), and i finally settled on kelly clarkson.
(i really need more angry music in my playlist man.)

All i wanted was to go home and sulk,
and the last thing i wanted was to pick up a present for my church friend.
But i had to, otherwise i wouldn't have time,
and that made it more frustrating.

-----------------------------------------------

And so i walked into this christian music school to get my present,
and it could be the soothing music they were playing,
because i walked out feeling a lot calmer.

and in the train station i decided to take another way home instead of the usual way,
and this other way did not require me to change trains,
so i got to sit for a while longer.

suddenly i had this prompting in my head,
"Read the bible. God wants to speak to you."

and i remember thinking,
"shit, i don't want to read the bible now. i'm not in the mood."

"read the bible."

So i took it out, and wondered where to start reading from, and i really didn't want to read any book in particular, and i got the prompting again to just read where the bookmark was (I haven't changed the bookmark for sometime and didn't even know what page it marked),

Turned out the bookmark was at Philippians.

and i really wasn't in the mood to read, so i just read the lines i highlighted before.

this was the first line that jumped at me,
"whatever happens, conduct yourself in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.

hmmm.

i closed my eyes for a while and remembered i snapped at my colleague in the morning,
and maybe i should apologize.

but that's just really weird.
then i read again, and this came out
"Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me - put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you."

wah no choice,
i knew i had to sms my colleague to apologize to her.
which i did.
and of which she replied "got meh? LOL"

-----------------------------------------------

so anyway by the time i got home,
i've completely forgotten all my anger.
that's very amazing considering how angry i was just an hour before.

the music was back to the normal soothing ones and no longer blasting,
and i'm so glad i didn't just come sulking home and ruining everybody's day.

the highlighted lines when read together made a beautiful paragraph. and each of them was applicable to me at this point in some ways.

Here they are (all from Philippians):

"I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Jesus Christ.

...that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best....

...in every way, Christ is preached.

...whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.

...stand firm in one spirit, ...for the faith....without being frightened...those who oppose you.....

.....believe on him....suffer for him....

encouragement...comfort...fellowship..tenderness....compassion..then make my joy complete by being like minded, having the same love, being in one spirit and purpose.

Each of you should not only look to your own interest, but also to the interests of others.

...for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.

Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, to press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Jesus Christ.

And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you.

Only let us live up to what we have already attained.

Rejoice in the Lord always. Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.

thanksgiving...peace of God....guard your hearts and minds......

Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me - put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

...secret of being content.....

I can do everything through him who gives me strength."

Work work work

I really shouldn't be blogging.
Got a speech to write for tomorrow.
This is the first time i have no idea what i want to talk abt at all.

And then yesterday while coloring my hair,
i hit a brainwave.
i'll write a speech on how to write a speech!

------------------------------------------

whenever i play with my hair,
it means one thing.

i'm stressed.

so last week it has all been abt work.

i have TWO projects running at the same time.
it's insane.
and each project has twice the features of my previous projects,
so it means i have FOUR times the workload of a normal project.

surprisingly i wasn't too unhappy,
although it got quite tiring physically.

for 3 days in a row i clocked 12+ hour days.
Someone even switched off the lights on me at abt 8.30pm.
Until i started screaming "HARLOW!!!! HARLOW!!!!!"
and then he turned it on again.

well on wed i was the one who switched the lights off and someone suddenly shot up like a jack-in-the-box.
so that's where the sound was coming from.
i could hear the squeaking of a chair but no one seems to be ard.

it can get creepy being in the huge office all alone.
trust me, there are horror stories floating around.
but i'm more worried abt Man than other stuff.
Wouldn't be too safe if someone wanted to do something funny.

-------------------------------------

it's been quite satisfying so far.
funny how in the beginning i was so unhappy at the "faceless" nature of this job,
but now i'm ok with it.

i think it's because i'm getting a hang of it and starting to have fun.

Angie just changed jobs too and we agree on one thing.
Pple take time to adapt to you and vice versa.
In the beginning they just dun know how to react to you,
so hell happens.

Just ride it out.

She's taking it a lot more calmly and maturely than i did.

I've also come to realise that we can be a lot happier focussing on our own growth than on company rewards.
simply because we can't really control what the company offers us.

I stumbled upon an advert of what seemed like a dream job,
but while thinking abt applying,
i figured i do want to stay where i am for a while more.

my next project is completely different from what i've been doing and there're so many more things i can pick up.

i left my previous company partly because of the pay but mostly because i found myself doing the same thing again and again. (the boss did offer to put me in RnD but they couldn't match the pay)

---------------------------------------------

there have been talk of retrenchments.

i'm quite vulnerable as i haven't joined the company for long.

so i got quite worried for abt 30 min.

Until i thought of all the other things i could pursue.

Later on i got news that our dept should be ok.

it's fine. both ways work for me. :) the glass is always half full.

------------------------------------------

the hairdresser wouldn't let me rebond (hair too short)
and he wouldn't let me streak (too messy)

so my hair still looks normal now.

just a different shade so "not too black otherwise your round face stand out"
and a not so long not so short fringe - "see, fringe come down here cover cheekbone then not so round"

mom saw my hair and went "got cut meh?"

-----------------------------------------------

I haven't had time to check my email for a week and suddenly there're 50+ mails.
because 3 different groups of pple are arranging to meet and there're dozens of emails with one liners of

"both days are fine"
"i'm ok"
"can don't do 13th i want to watch andy lau concert"

at least most of them replied with history so i just need to keep the last "i'm ok" mail and delete the rest.

---------------------------------------

argh back to my speech back to my speech.
must prepare powerpoint somemore for this project.

Gambatte!

Heartlander Juggler

had a gig yesterday at yishun.
realised i really like mingling with heartlanders.

while i haven't quite captured how to entertain pple at serious suit and tie events,
heartlanders are very easy to connect with.

So yesterday after i got suited up with the full clown costume,
with HUGE clown shoes and all,
i looked at myself and started giggling.

Just hours ago i was in the office doing high tech work,
and now i'm in a small stinking toilet in a full clown suit.

----------------------------------------------

I really enjoyed the event.
there were many kids and aunties around.

most of them stared at me like i just lost a dare.
so i had to explain why i was there, and started shouting "happy halloween!"
buit heartlanders are quite chinese right,
so i could see some confused faces.

but what the hell is halloween in chinese?
my level of mandarin has deteriorated unti i thought 屁股痒 was written as 屁股疡

Gd thing i checked with jen before sending out my email.
she was like "yang3 is the one with a goat inside. this is tang4"
"but my pinyin i wrote yang what"
"aiya your computer's mandarin is as bad as yours"

anyway,
"happy halloween" was translated to "星期五快乐"!

heartlanders are so great to be with.
make a baby smile, and the whole family smiles with the baby.

make a kid laugh, and the whole family laughs with the kid.

it's so cute. toddlers are way cute. so many things you can do with them cos they look so blur and innocent.

i even managed to make one grown up very pleased.
accidentally dropped the club when he walked by,
and i went "too handsome! cannot concentrate!"

he laughed and continued walking looking very pleased, his wife beside him wasn't that amused though.

it was a very satisfying gig.
i think to be able to make others smile and laugh is a wonderful thing,
not just for them but for yourself.

try it. it's satisfying.
and if you really go out and do one thing that deeply touches someone, i don't think you'll feel the same for the entire week.

--------------------------------------------------

in the first 10 min of my gig i was in trouble already.
i could feel the blister forming inside my foot.

so THAT's wHY they included knee length socks with the shoes.
i figured the socks can't be seen so i wore my own ankle socks.
MISTAKE.

After the gig i took off the shoe and saw the extent of the damage.
OUCH.

the blister on my right foot has burst and was abt 2cm long (and 0.8 cm wide)
the last time i had a damaged blister like that was when i went ice skating years ago.
and i never tried ice skating again.

bathing these days just got very exciting.
i was hopping around the toilet yesterday.

"ouch ouch ouch ouch, don't be a wuss, don't be a wuss. OW. OW. SHIT. OUCH."

i don't actually know what a "wuss" is, i hope it's not a bad word, but my colleague in alabama used to say that a lot.

i wondered how i managed to last an hour with a blister like that.
it must have been the adrenaline and the passion,
and that's quite heartwarming too i guess.

i have a mini blister on my left foot too,
and like those finger paper cuts,
the pain is super disproportional to the size of the cut.

So the left foot hurts too,
but once the pain from the right foot comes in, the left one is barely noticable.

so pain is relative.
that's something to be thankful for,
the super big blister hides the pain from the mini blister.

i'm getting warped.
blardy blister.
--------------------------------------------------

work is going ok.

like excercise,
it's satisfying to log in a good hard day's work.

usually we only get one project at one time,
but the planners for this one couldn't decide on the design,
so they ran BOTH designs.

and it's not just the casing that is different,
the electronics have to change to fit the casing,
so EVERYTHING is different and it's really 2 projects running under ONE name.

so the whole team is running 2 projects concurrently.

it's quite crazy.
i managed to get another technician so i have extra help,
but i'm still the bottleneck cos there's only one of me to look through all the results.

and i've been running around fighting fires here and there.
phew.

it's interesting.
---------------------------------

things are going ok at the moment.

a few itchy backside things coming up.
it should be fun.
