FREEEEEEEEEEEDOM
the last two weeks have been machiam house arrest!!!
that's what happens when you rush out a 2000 word translation over the weekend, then build up a 6 page website from nothing, and then take another 7000 word translation.
and all these after work in my free time.
which of course means no free time at all.
i'm in celebratory mood now (at 2.30am) because it was so insane!
you have to try it to believe it.
go to work (go through the madness there), rush back, work on the computer until you fall asleep, and then repeat the process daily for two weeks.
And since i have no time to read the bible,
i very gung-ho-ly decided to start fasting lunch,
so i can squeeze time to read the bible and have quiet time.
No food and no sleep means Mr Bronchitis came again.
it's interesting just thinking back of all that happened in the last two weeks!
well thank God for bronchitis though,
cos it earned me a day's MC when i could do more translation (i know..i know...)
and thank God also that some of my relatives are out of town so there was nothing going on at all on the first day,
and the translation piece saved me from total boredom.
(you can't really do anything on the first day if you're not visiting. All your frens are busy, all the shops are closed, and everything on TV sucks.)
"Do you know that if you work on the first day, it means you'll be working for the rest of the year" Poot said, "then again, you like working." she added wryly.
-------------------------------------------------
Have been listening to Yanni for days and days.
without music i get bored, but if the songs have lyrics i can't concentrate.
there's a particular song "End of August" which i've not listened to intently before.
and i've been so hooked on it.
it sounds so sad.
it's only 3 min long and i've been listening to it for days so i must have heard it a thousand times.
it feels like the end of August already!
"You're listening to Yanni ?? are you kidding me??" my bro popped into the room.
i gave him a look that said Yanni's music is good for the brain.
He stared at me for 10 seconds and left the room speechless.
don't think he's a Yanni fan.
------------------------------------------
all my creative juices are flowing again.
now that i've suddenly been "released".
there are so many things brewing,
things worth a try, just to see what happens from there.
inspirations inspirations!
i feel like i'm standing on the brink of something but i can't get a pulse of what it is.
i've learnt though, that some inspirations cannot be tied down.
even by the weight of a feather,
tie it and it's gone.
"Reflections of Passion" from Yanni, by the way, is one of the most inspiring songs out there.
-----------------------------------------
ex-shepherd is back in town for CNY.
she with the knack of msn-ing me "hihi" whenever i'm shaky.
it's uncanny.
and again she encouraged me this time with a "I don't think God expects you to be a great ****(censored for confidentiality)...I think He just wants you to grow in Him."
and very sweet of her to pray for me in service, where the response she got was a book.
"I couldn't see what book it is. I think it's the bible. one body many parts. just follow the bible and you'll be alright"
------------------------------------------------
Back from relative vistation today and very encouraged as well at how all my Christian relatives were so encouraging abt the cambodia thing.
i've gotten so used to swimming against the tide that i've forgotten the big picture.
it's pretty cool.
like a roller coaster though, sometimes the nearer it gets, the scarier it becomes.
but i bet it'll be exhilarating, esp when it's over.
somewhat like the last two weeks.
