Apa Portuguese?
I love it when i get the periodic email from the brazilian missionary i bumped into at the esplanade a while back.
There was a missionary travelling circus group and we just happened to be practising juggling at the same time on the same day.
The leader and I exchanged emails and he must have added me into his circle of christians friends or something.
so every now and then i get an email written completely in portuguese.
like i understand a word.
Thank God for free online translation.
I kind of gather his wife just gave birth and they're now settled somewhere in a seminary.
"A great one I hug of the friends and brothers."
I'm gonna sign off my emails like that from now.
--------------------------------------------------------
somehow everyone thinks my birthday is in early feb.
"erm poot?"
"what"
"erm...."
"WHAT"
"happy belated birthday" *embarassed look*
"it's not my birthday yet"
"OOPS"
sms from another friend:
"Is your birthday yesterday?"
"no."
"oops"
-------------------------------------------------------
there's a pepper crab place near my place which is famous!
and i've not eaten there till now!
no regrets.
must try.
came back and told my mom i've recceed the place and it's a thumbs up.
"so when are you treating me", she asked from the other room.
silence from me as i was reading something online.
big mistake.
moms love it when you show that you're busy because they'll pick THAT time to chat with you.
"WHEN ARE YOU TREATING ME?" her head popped into my room.
"anytime lor"
"you say until so bu gan yuan, now you want to treat i also don't want to eat"
"that's the point, heh"
mom walked in ready to warm up for chit chat session.
"there's cake in the fridge" i hurriedly said.
"why is there cake?"
"my pepper crab friends were celebrating my birthday"
"it's not your birthday yet what"
"ya coming soon. WHEN ARE YOU TREATING ME?"
"i only sponsor steamboat for reunion dinner ok......" mom said as she walked out of the room.
-------------------------------------------------
went shopping with a friend on sun.
After hours of discussing how to camouflage fats and trying on clothes with "wah look damn fat damn fat" comments,
we headed to KFC.
Lagi best.
----------------------------------------------
Looks like we're headed to Cambodia again in June.
this time we're building something for real.
haha.
poot will be so proud.
after the last "i thought you going to build sch or what! how come what head shoulder knees and toes" trip.
And this time,
the village really has no water and no toilets and no nothing.
Luckily there'll be a team before us going to install a well and toilets.
And then we'll move in to build a shed for the children to study in.
i think it'll be fun.
i'm excited already.
maybe we can even hang our portraits in the shed like machiam president's photo.

A great one I hug of the friends and brothers.
i can smell CNY in the air!
