How deep does this well go

the still of the night
the stars in the sky
a pretty sight for those who seek

the sound of ironic can laughter from david letterman
drowned by the music of the Sundial dreams

can misery be enjoyable?

they ring in my ears
they flash in my mind

the weight of expectation
the value of self worth

the soul sits in silence
all is blind

rippling in the cycle
looking for a way

how deep does this well go?
