"To juggle is to find the most difficult way to do the unnecessary."
haha.love this quote...cos it's so true. why the hell do pple need/want to juggle anyway?
love this one too...it caught me off a little, but after a pause to uderstand it it's quite good.

got this quotes from a website by the way, not on the streets of singapore. if only the passers by i meet are as witty and fun. :o) oh there was this guy Izharm i think...who came by the other time and requested to stand in the middle while we passed clubs. Now if you would care to spend 5 minutes watching us pass clubs, you would know that it is NOT wise to stand in the middle, much less REQUEST voluntarily. And he was really big too, min jiang was totally covered by him! anyway we attempted to pass, clubbed him on some part of his body, and he wisely decided it's enough. He was really fun, spontaneous and good natured though, kudos to Izharm! these are the pple to meet that makes it memorable.
went busking again today, outside ngee ann city. the crowd was similar to the one on friday => sparse. but it was a mon night after all not expecting many pple. (interestingly the collection was slightly more than fri). Wilson popped by, so did alan. after alan came to watch we actually managed to have a crowd for a while, it's like nuclear crystallisation. next time we shld plant pple. Oh yeah, out of total boredom, we decided to compete to see who can stay still the longest. and people actually started watching us!!!! it's like, we spent years of our lives learning to juggle when all we needed to do is to keep still to get attention?? it's very strange. the statue act is really lucrative too, alan started doing it at lido and if you peek into his hat it's filled with notes. oh well.
insurance lady called today. she woke me up from my nice sleep and started telling me how much i can get if i get into an accident and if i die how much my parents will get. these days i pick up calls from unknown numbers with utmost courtesy, thanks to advice from linnet. "every call is a potential employer so be VERY COURTEOUS. and dun sound SLEEPY. not at 3pm" i paraphrase, but the gist is like that. the insurance lady is gonna call me again on thurs, and she's using private number (no idd) so i have to pick up her call somehow, with utmost courtesy too. (i'm in a good mood tonight, and i shall add that she's not that bad, sounded quite courteous and friendly herself. but i dun think i need life insurance yet, so gotta think of how to tell her that i'm actually dependent on my parents and not the other way round, so if i die my parents will actually save money)
morbid. morbid night.
ah-ya the taiwanese host is quite funny. was watching her on telly. was watching bloopers too. there was a segment where this fat magician tried to squeeze into the box to get cut up and he totally broke the whole box. haha...and the fake legs were still there of course.
it's weird how when you order coke light at burger king, the counter crew will always say "there's no coke light. only coke light with lemon". like do i really care whether there's lemon?? the key word is LIGHT. but every time i order they make it clear that there's no coke light, only with lemon, so i guess there're some pple out there with extreme allergies to lemon. anyway, that's not my grouse. my grouse is that the counter crews say the first part very clearly, but mumble the 2nd part.
"can i change it to coke light?"
"there's no coke light, only mfamfnwgnringknsfmdmffmwkmfg......"
"huh?"
""there's no coke light, only mfamfnwgnringknsfmdmffmwkmfg......"
"er, ok gimme normal coke then", thinking that they ran out of coke light. but then i see the dispenser, and then it hit me that the "mfamfnwgnringknsfmdmffmwkmfg" is coke light with lemon.
so dietors (and since only jen reads my blog it's you missy), do not get tricked by the auntie behind the counter. sheng hau raised a gd point some time ago regarding this: "if you're on a diet and need to drink coke light, why come to a fast food restaurant?" true, very true. :o)
speaking of auntie couter crews, they'd better beware of meeting us after we busk. i paid for my mos burger set today in coins. that's 7 bucks of coins. there was once alan paid 11 bucks worth of coins to the burger king auntie. and it's not even nice one dollar coins mind you, it's like 5 cent, 10 cent coins. my mos burger auntie wasn't so bad, alan's one gave him a "you blardy ass" look. but nothing beats the one xiwen did years ago, in sec 2 i think. there's a pretty posh coffee place at wisma, and after she ordered/drank the coffee she found that she only had a pouch full of coins with her. fantastic. both of us started counting coins in front of the waiter..heaps and heaps of coins. so glam.
speaking of xiwen and diets, i've told her that i would not go out with anyone with less BMI than me anymore. my BMI is (sob) 23.1, which makes me overweight by asian standards (i've always thought overweight is 25, but noo, ang mohs always have it better). so while i sip coke light (with no lemon too, ha!) for lunch, dear xiwen is eating big fat tang yuans for fun. and while playing pool she was happily eating twisties (and holding her billiard stick with only 3 non-oily fingers) while i try not to lose to a twistie-engrossed xiwen. hmmph.
long post today. oh dear it's nearly 4. phillip captial walk in interview in campus tmrw. dunno if i'm going. prob not. if i do i'll be going in in shorts and a unicycle. better not yeah....
